Self Tape Evaluation w/ Angela Boehm CSA (11:00 – 1:00)
Hear from Casting Director, Angela Boehm, as she evaluates your self tapes. Gain her perspective as to what you can do to elevate your tapes and increase your chances of your auditions getting into the top few tapes that become contenders for the roles. Casting Directors watch A LOT of auditions, and as gatekeepers to the industry, hearing Angela’s perspective is incredibly valuable!
Career Expansion w/ Lauren Nichols (1:15 – 3:15)
This class is for the actor ready to take their career to the next level and expand into other, larger markets. Lauren will guide the class on how to create a solid package that they will use to pitch themselves for representation outside of Ohio and give helpful tips and tricks along the way to get your materials into the hands of decision makers. Knowing how to make pitches stand out and get the attention of agents is an art, let’s help you master it. We will discuss, cover letters, submitting, finding agents to target, materials to send, how to handle taking meetings and other helpful tips.
Finding Voice Over Work w/ Steve Marvel (3:30 – 4:30)
Voice over work is everywhere you look- on the radio, video games, commercials, e-learning, and audiobooks to name a few. How do you become competitive in this industry and find the work? VO auditions and projects are subject to an entirely different process than we’ve become accustomed to as on camera actors. Full time, professional VO artist, Steve Marvel, will walk the class through the proper equipment you’d need to deliver quality work from your home studio, where to find auditions and work, along with other helpful tips to break into this side of the business.
Content Creation & Marketing for the Actor w/ Chris Schneider (4:45-6:45)
In a time where it has never been easier to create your own content, actors have the ability to have their work seen on many different platforms. SAG-AFTRA has even added an influencer agreement, so you can gain eligibility for the union through this too! Marketing Expert, Chris Schneider, will walk the actors through creating your brand, how to get your content seen, understanding algorithms, monetization of content, and trends to stay on top of. Understanding how to maximize your efforts is crucial, don’t sit around and wait to be cast in something, create your own content and get it out there.
Commercial Self Tape Evaluation w/ Lucy Grimm (7:00-8:30)
Commercials are the most common thing that new actors audition for! Learn how to step up your self-tape game as Lucy Grimm, one of the most booked commercial actresses in the region, reviews your tapes and provides valuable feedback!
