In his book, AUDITION, Michael Shurtleff outlines 12 “guideposts” as the heart of what we as actors should strive to achieve in our work! Utilizing these “guideposts” leads to a specificity of choice, and mastering this method leads to dynamic work whether you’re on stage or screen! During these 4 weeks we’ll develop three guideposts per class, using scenes/monologues that will be chosen with you in mind!
The 12 Guideposts:
- Relationships
- Conflict
- The Moment Before
- Humor
- Opposites
- Discoveries
- Communication & Competition
- Importance
- Find the Events
- Place
- Game Playing & Role Playing
- Mystery & Secret
