Advanced Scene Study (Level 3)

Students will have completed Foundations of Acting and Scene Study prior to enrolling

Actors will be encouraged to explore expansive and authentic behavior as it relates to the given circumstances. Actors will have an opportunity to find his/her own sense of truth in this process as they take on challenging material for in depth study and character creation.

The emphasis in this particular rendition of the course will be on cultivating believable and relatable human relationships that inspire spontaneity and moment-to-moment specificity.  The most dynamic performances are ever-changing and the most dynamic performers are continually affecting and being affected by their scene partners in real time.  We will delve deeper into concepts like subtext, targeting and playing action, with special attention given to the subtlety and inner life exploration necessary to creating performances that are life-like and camera-friendly.
