So much work goes into the mechanics of an audition (setting up the Zoom, getting your lighting right, editing the tapes, finding parking at the callback), that we can easily forget the job itself: THE ACTING! But then, how many of us have been instructed to “not act too much” on camera? Where is the balance? We want our auditions to stand out for the right reasons, and this class will offer tools for managing prep time to prioritize bold character and relationship choices.
The Instructor:
Maura Kidwell is a Chicago-based audition coach, actor, director, screenwriter and playwright. TV credits include THE BEAR (Hulu), SIRENS (USA), SOUTH SIDE (HBO Max), JOE PERA TALKS WITH YOU (Comedy Central), CHICAGO MED, FIRE and JUSTICE (NBC). Film credits include GRASSHOPPERS (dir. Brad Bischoff), CRAFTED FOR CHRISTMAS (dir. Jack C.
